23 days in

Today closes out the 23rd day of my 80-day diet. What did I get for following a bodybuilding diet and supplement program for three weeks?

  • I got rid of my “holiday” weight — at least 6 lbs. (Unfortunately, my scale broke in the beginning of this process, so I cannot say for sure how much weight I’ve lost.) 
  • I can now fit back into my jeans — very comfortably.
  • I am starting to see some definition in my abdomen and in my arms.

The difference between my Jan 1 and my Feb 1 pictures is a good reminder that my hard work is paying off.  I am feeling more and more “in the groove” and despite last week’s hiccups, I have persevered and stayed on track. Although I am trying to stay as optimistic as possible after being laid off, I was emotionally drained tonight, and did not want to go to the gym. But I went and soon my mind was focused on my goal and I felt revived. I came home much better prepared mentally for a productive day of studying and job seeking tomorrow.

I will post a new progress picture on February 15. In the next few days, I will also create a new page that details my day-to-day diet and training. Although I’ve outlined in previous posts what I eat and how I train, it will add a little more color on how this all works.
