Encouragement

When I started this diet, I didn’t tell anyone, not even my husband. But as the weeks wore on, I started to share my progress through my blog, Facebook, and on other forums (e.g., the Eat Clean Diet). Although I still find the publicity embarrassing at times, the motivation it has given me has made it easier to push the shyness away. I never imagined that so many people — many of which I’ve never met — would cheer me on. Without a doubt, the support I’ve received has continued to drive me through the last weeks of my diet. I also know it will help me reach my new goals after Week 12.

Thank you for your kindness and encouragement.

This morning, I re-read the first chapter of an old-school bodybuilding book called Sliced. The chapter is titled, “Psychology of Peak Condition”, and talks about a number of things, including:

>the passion it takes to meet your goals

>the power of setting clear, defined goals, and

>how to “discipline your self-discipline” (probably the most difficult, but most important part of any goal).

If you can get your hands on a copy, I think it’s worth purchasing, even if just for the first chapter. I find that reading (and re-reading) motivational books (and blogs, articles, etc.) from time to time gives me fresh energy and drives me to do even more than I thought possible.
